The sun was out. The birds were chirping. It was a beautiful day in the Circle City. It was a day made for meandering around town, taking in the sights, and talking with friends and neighbors about what they like to do and where they like to go in Indy.

One of the things I admire about Indianapolis is it’s diversity of residents and the fact that there is something for everyone. I spoke with carriage drivers, motorcycle riders, ballroom dancers, visitors from Slovenia and New Zealand, IUPUI students, and even a boxer about to embark on his first fight. All with unique perspectives of the city and all with an assortment of favorite places to go.

As I walked around downtown and the canal, I was struck by the beauty of the architecture. The way it perfectly meshed with nature in White River State Park was just sensational, as well. As the weather gets warmer and you find yourself drawing a blank on what to do, head to the canal. You can rent a bike, segway, paddleboat, or even a kayak there. The Eiteljorg and Indiana State Museums are nestled right beside the canal path, for easy access, as well as, the NCAA Hall Of Champions. White River State Park or the canal is a lovely spot to share a picnic, take your dog on a stroll, walk to a baseball game at Victory Field, or even to the Indianapolis Zoo, if you are feeling adventurous. Downtown offers a plethora of restaurants, watering holes, and cultural destinations, also, including the Circle itself, an array of monuments to explore, and a variety of hidden culinary gems.
