Sharing my journey with Crohn’s Disease has been a very personal yet rewarding experience. I have found that fellow Crohnies (people also battling Crohn’s Disease) form a tight-knit supportive community wherever they find each other and it has been wonderful to experience that through my involvement with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Indiana Chapter. During their annual fundraiser, “Take Steps”, I relished the opportunity to walk, meet, speak, and even laugh with many individuals going through the same thing I was. It was a great reminder that life changes after a Crohn’s diagnosis but it does not end.
